Butte-Silver Bow County Parks, Recreation Open Space and Trails (PROST) Plan
Renovated parks are coming to Butte, MT, as SCJ recently completed the Butte-Silver Bow Parks Master Plan, now part of the County's Comprehensive Plan.
Crescent Bar Island Recreation Plan
Increased visitors and revenue are sure to come from this new design for Grant County PUD’s premiere park, Crescent Bar. For several years, SCJ Studio team members have been working on improvements at this popular shoreline along the Columbia River in eastern Washington.
East Wenatchee Gateway Park
SCJ gathered input from community members through social media surveys, an open house, and City Council presentations. The team incorporated the results into a conceptual plan for a new park that would be used as both a trailhead and an open-air event venue.
Chambers Creek Park Master Plan
SCJ Studio collaborated with the talented land use planners at SCJ Alliance to assist Pierce County Parks and Recreation staff with the 10 year update to their master plan. Our team developed a process of public outreach and communication that recognized the challenges of updating a park master plan, especially considering the centrality of the Chambers Creek Waste Water Treatment Plant and Chambers Bay Golf Course.
Slate River Boat Launch
Natural and durable materials such as stone slab steps, boulder retaining walls and hardy native plant materials were used to create access down 12 vertical feet from the boat staging area to the water’s edge
Woodin Avenue Bridge
SCJ worked with the City of Chelan in revitalizing their historic downtown with a TIB and STP-funded project. This project converted a historic two-lane bridge into a one-way route better serving pedestrian and bicycle traffic, preserving access to local businesses, and creating an aesthetically pleasing corridor for local citizens and tourists.
IOOF Park
This previously under-utilized pocket park was redesigned to better serve the evolving community. The design was the result of a comprehensive community engagement process and includes lawn area and planting beds, an interactive water feature, climbing boulder, fire pit, festival lighting, and flexible seating/plaza space that can be used for gatherings, public events and individual use.
Charmar Park
Our team worked closely with the City of Gunnison Parks and Recreation Department and a local play sculpture manufacturer to design this exciting new playground to enliven the park.
Shady Island River Park
Our team led the Master Planning phase of this 10.5-acre park project. Located 1.75 miles from the City of Gunnison limits and directly adjacent to Hwy 135, the project provides access to a beautiful site full of natural amenities and provides safe access to the Gunnison River for recreational and commercial boaters.
Sensory Garden
The sensory garden invites users of all ages to pause and connect with nature through their senses.
