In collaboration with KLJ Engineering, SCJ Studio assisted with public outreach and visioning for a revitalized downtown Ronan. Pedestrian improvements were the main focus, with plans for curb bulbs, street trees, furniture, wayfinding, and pedestrian scale lighting. Improvements also included better connectivity between the city's large park, downtown, and the fairgrounds. 

SCJ Studio lead a design team to design a new entry sign and landscape and new street signage throughout Buckhorn Ranch. The sign package provides a unifying design aesthetic that extends through the entire development. The design is bold and deliberate using simple and pure materials (concrete, steel and wood) to establish a “ranch” character. Existing trees were pruned and cleaned up and additional planting included spruce and aspen trees, flowering native perennials, ornamental grasses and the use of landscape boulders for year-round structure and texture.

SCJ worked with the City of Chelan and the Chelan Historic Downtown Association on improvements throughout the downtown area and along the waterfront of Lake Chelan. SCJ has been involved in all aspects of the projects, from visioning, traffic analysis, and funding, through design and construction management. The lake is a major tourist draw, and the significant bike and pedestrian traffic along with the associated parking issues demand a creative approach to maintain circulation and access while accommodating all modes of travel. Improvements include wider sidewalks, landscaping, illumination, pedestrian crossings, improved intersections, multi-use pathways and on-street parking.

The Town of Mt. Crested Butte is working with the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) on a signage and wayfinding program. The DDA was formed with the vision of providing guidance for future development within the town, specifically within the area designated as the commercial core of Mt. Crested Butte. The Authority consists of members appointed by Town Council. The formation of this body of local business owners and/or residents focuses on growth within the ski base area and guides new development and building renovations to reflect designs and use that convey the heritage and traditions of the area.

SCJ worked with the Town of Twisp to develop a master plan for downtown infrastructure that revitalizes and enhances business visibility, encourages economic development, and attracts tourism to Twisp.
