Idyll Haus
Located outside Leavenworth, WA, Idyll Haus pairs midcentury modern design with a dramatic lakeside site. SCJ Studio partnered with the homeowner and architect to transform the steep terrain into a functional, expressive landscape. A native wildflower plan revitalizes the once unusable hillside, leading down to a rustic fire pit with custom log seating at the lakefront. Up front, a clean-lined fence quietly defines boundaries while mirroring the home's contemporary architecture, and native plantings blend the entry with the roadside landscape. Pops of color from custom planters highlight the client’s playful style, drawing plant life into outdoor gathering spaces framed by seamless views through the house to the water.
